Home Decor & Nature
Quick and easy Monstera art inspired by nature, while i was weeding the garden the other day i trimmed some older monstera leafs and thought i would keep them to use them to create a stencil, below is a very easy step by step process.

Step 1
Trace the Monstera:
Lay the leaf onto some recycled paper, cardboard or material, trace around the leaf with a texter outlining the natural flow of the Monstera’s curves.
When you follow natures curves and lines it really gives you an authentic pattern to use with these amazing and versatile cut outs.
Once the Monstera has been traced, cut out your new stencil, this part takes a little patients which is good for the soul.

Step 2
Choose your material:
I’ve chosen leather as i have a heap of leather that was pass down from an old 80’s boot maker… so i always try and use what i have, other suggestion would be to use a felt, vinyl or a fabric which doesn’t fray.
Once you have chosen your fabric trace your Monstera stencil onto the material, i used a silver texter to trace onto my leather and when i cut it out i made sure i cut the traced line so it can’t be seen on the back of the material .

Step 3
Final Tips:
You can use this idea with many different shaped leaves… if you choose a bigger Monstera leaf with holes make sure when your cutting the holes you make a little incision and then cut the hole out delicately.
The design ideas are endless with this template use as a placement , hang it on the wall, make gifts for people, its all in your hands. We hope you have fun and enjoy this DIY Project.
